Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands, which are located in the western Caribbean Sea. The island offers a variety of activities, but without a doubt, the big star is Seven Mile Beach.
Seven Mile Beach is a world-renowned stretch of sandy shoreline on the western coast of Grand Cayman. The sand is powdery white, and the crystal clear water is perfect for kids. Seven Mile Beach is the only area I would stay – as life here centers around this fantastic beach. Here’s my list of my three favorite hotels to book with points when we are on Grand Cayman.
#1 The Ritz-Carlton Seven Mile Beach
Chain: Marriott
Class: 5 star
Points: Expect to pay on average around 125,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night for a two-queen bed room. Marriott uses dynamic award pricing so this amount may vary based on the season.
Transfer Partners: You can transfer to Marriott from Chase and American Express.
Perks: Very kid friendly. The highlights here are a splash pad and water playground (ideal for littles) and a game room (perfect for bigger kids).
Tip: Don’t forget Marriott’s perk of 5th night free when you book a room using your Bonvoy points. This is a great way to squeeze some more value out of those points.
#2 Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa
Chain: IHG
Class: 5 star
Points: 70,000 IHG points per night for a two-queen bed room.
Transfer Partners: You can transfer to IHG from Chase.
Perks: If you have the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card or IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card your 4th night on rewards stays is free.
Tip: While resort fees are super annoying, they seem to be the norm nowadays. The resort fee at this location covers the use of various water amenities, including paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, and more.
#3 The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa
Chain: Marriott
Class: 4 star
Points: Expect to pay, on average, around 94,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night for a two-double bedroom. Note that the Westin uses double beds (rather than queen-sized). As my boys get older, this becomes a more difficult squeeze. Marriott uses dynamic award pricing, so this amount may vary based on the season.
Transfer Partners: You can transfer to Marriott from Chase and American Express.
Perks: The beach area here is my favorite on all of Seven Mile Beach. Also, during our stay there were random activities going on for the kids by the pool. My boys loved participating in these.
Tip: Don’t forget Marriott’s perk of 5th night free when you book a room using your Bonvoy points. This is a great way to squeeze some more value out of those points.
Conclusion
Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman is the go-to place on the island. Follow this list of my three favorite hotels to book with points on Grand Cayman and you’ll be staying in kid-friendly luxury (paid for with points – of course!).
