When people think of Los Angeles, they think of dreamy palm tree-lined streets and glamourous movie stars. Yes, it is all those things, but LA is also a vibrant city full of never-ending kid-friendly activities. Spend the day exploring Griffith Park, The Los Angeles Zoo, or The Observatory. Hit up Universal Studios, or hike to the Hollywood sign. Another thing going for Los Angeles is its long list of family-friendly hotels able to be booked using points – yay!

What Makes a Hotel Family Friendly

I look for a few things when determining if a hotel is family-friendly.

One key feature I always look for at a hotel I’ll be staying at with my kids is the pool. Therefore, there aren’t any hotels on this list that don’t have pools. Be warned that the pool situation in Los Angeles will be more of a rooftop/DJ party vibe (with limited lounge chairs) rather than sprawling grounds with waterslide vibes. It’s just the tradeoff when you are staying in the downtown area of any big city.

I also look for hotels that offer two queen beds (rather than two fulls). I’m a big sleeper, and so are my boys. I also tend to avoid boutique-like hotels that seem geared more toward couples. Granted, my kids are great travelers, but there are some hotels where I can look at a picture of the lobby and know – maybe this one is best saved for a kid-free weekend away. If you can squeeze in a weekend in LA with the kids, this is my go-to list of family-friendly luxury hotels in Los Angeles (bookable with points, of course!).
