During our recent adventure in Japan, I found myself making a suggestion multiple times that you would n-e-v-e-r hear me say at home: “How about we have lunch at 7-Eleven?” I know this sounds crazy, but bear with me. - Lawson – best known for their “Karaage-kun” fried chicken.
- FamilyMart – famous for their own brand of fried chicken called “FamilyMart chicken.”
- Ministop – renowned for their soft-serve ice cream.

During our trip, we often opted for konbini as a quick and affordable lunch option. Some of our favorites included the fresh egg sandwiches, seaweed and plum wraps, and the karaage fried chicken sandwiches. And let’s not forget the snacks! So many snacks!!

Paying was a breeze thanks to tap-to-pay options. Often we paid with our digital Suica cards but we also used ApplePay and regular tap-to-pay with credit cards. Easy peasy.

Konbinis are generally clean, very well organized and fast. An extra bonus: in the summer they have air conditioning!!
