Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands, which are located in the western Caribbean Sea. It boasts beautiful beaches, some great hotels bookable with points, and lots of kid-friendly activities. Here’s my list of three fun things to do on Grand Cayman with kids.
Stingray City and Starfish Point
These are crowded and touristy but worth visiting if you are traveling with kids. As the names suggest – Stingray City is a series of shallow sandbars that offer the opportunity to interact with and feed stingrays.
Starfish Point is known for its abundance of starfish in the shallow, crystal-clear waters. Plenty of boat tours will take you to explore these two areas. We opted to use Captain Marvin’s tours, and it was great. There are also tons of options for private tours if that’s more your jam. I debated doing a private tour, but in the end, the group tour was fine and much more affordable. My boys weren’t 100% sold on the stingrays – but the experience was memorable, to say the least!
Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park
This park features walking trails, local wildlife, and diverse plant life. The park also serves as a center for environmental education and conservation efforts. This is a great option if your kiddos are beached out for the day. You won’t need a ton of time here, but the iguanas are sure to be a hit!
Seven Mile Beach
Seven Mile Beach is a world-renowned stretch of sandy shoreline on the western coast of Grand Cayman. The sand is powdery white, and the crystal clear water is perfect for kids. This is where we basically lived when we were in Grand Cayman! Don’t forget to pack snorkel gear and inflatable rafts for the kids. If you are staying at a hotel on Seven Mile Beach, be sure to look into water sports, as many paddle boards and kayaks are covered by your resort fees.
Conclusion
Grand Cayman is absolute paradise. A trip here with kids probably looks a *bit* different than one without. However, there’s countless fun things to do on Grand Cayman with kids in tow. Have you experienced something other than what’s on my list? Be sure to comment below!
